La f\u00e8ve tonka est une petite graine noire provenant du teck br\u00e9silien, un arbre qui pousse \u00e0 une trentaine de m\u00e8tres de hauteur. \u00c0 l\u2019\u00e9tat brut, la f\u00e8ve a une saveur grill\u00e9e et amand\u00e9e. Elle \u00e9voque le caramel ou le foin s\u00e9ch\u00e9. Pour la parfumerie, on utilise l\u2019absolue de f\u00e8ve tonka, obtenue par extraction. L\u2019odeur de l’absolue a diff\u00e9rentes facettes : animale, tabac, gousse de vanille. La f\u00e8ve tonka se compose d\u2019une tr\u00e8s grande quantit\u00e9 de coumarine.
