L\u2019essence d\u2019orange douce s’obtient par expression \u00e0 froid du zeste de l\u2019orange douce. Son principal constituant est le limon\u00e8ne. On retrouve l\u2019orange dans les Eaux de Cologne<\/a> car elle d\u00e9gage une odeur fra\u00eeche, tr\u00e8s acidul\u00e9e et sucr\u00e9e. Elle appartient \u00e0 la famille olfactive<\/a> des hesp\u00e9rid\u00e9s. Ses notes l\u00e9g\u00e8res, donc plus volatiles, sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement associ\u00e9es \u00e0 des notes plus animales pour les fixer.
