Turmeric is an herbaceous plant with orange-yellow roots called rhyzomes. Native to India and Malaysia, it is considered a sacred spice that keeps spirits away and promotes fertility. Turmeric essence, obtained from the distillation of crushed rhyzomes, is still rarely found in perfumery. It reveals soft and aromatic notes with an almost woody scent.
